How to put a Picture in your Auctions

There are 3 different ways in which you can put a picture in your auctions.

You can use eBays Picture Service, use your own hosted picture with eBay, or use HTML in your auction description.

eBays Picture Service

  • On page 3 of the Sell Page on eBay (the one that says "Pictures & Details"), about a third of the way down the page where it says "Add Pictures", you'll see an option that says "eBay Picture Services Let eBay host your pictures"

  • Click on that option if the page hasnt opened by default to it

  • See the first box below where it says "First Picture - Free"? Click on that once.

  • A pop-up box will open that will let you locate your picture on your computer

  • When you've found your picture click on "Open" in the pop-up box and the picture will appear in the Sell Page

  • Now just fill in the rest of the sell page as normal

  • Don't forget there are size restrictions with eBays Picture Service, very large pictures may not load

  • If you have questions your answer may be here

Use your own hosted picture on eBay

  • On page 3 of the Sell Page on eBay (the one that says "Pictures & Details"), about a third of the way down the page where it says "Add Pictures", you'll see an option that says "Your own Web hosting Enter your picture URL"

  • Click on that option if the page hasnt opened by default to it

  • If you wish to use this option you'll need to have your picture hosted on an online image host site

  • Go to Boomspeed and open a free account (you'll use it to store your pics there instead of on your hard drive)

  • Once you've opened your account at http://www.boomspeed.com sign in

  • See in Boomspeed where it says 'Upload'? Well just below that is an empty field with a 'Browse' button next to it

  • Click on 'Browse' and a popup box will appear. Locate the picture on our computer then click 'Open' in the pop-up box

  • Click on 'Upload' in Boomspeed (the Upload button is below the Browse buttons)

  • Your pic will then be uploaded to Boomspeeds image hosting service in your account (be patient, it may take 30 secs or so depending on the size of your pic)

  • Now that your pic is loaded to Boomspeed right click on your pic and click on 'properties'

  • You'll see an 'address' there (it starts with http), highlight, right click and copy that address with your mouse

  • Now go to the eBay Sell Page where you were before and put your mouse cursor in the space that says "Picture URL (Web address)" and right click and click on "Paste"

  • Thats it, now just fill in the rest of the sell page as normal

How to post a picture using HTML

  • Go to Boomspeed and open a free account (you'll use it to store your pics there instead of on your hard drive)

  • Once you've opened your account at http://www.boomspeed.com sign in

  • See in Boomspeed where it says 'Upload'? Well just below that is an empty field with a 'Browse' button next to it

  • Click on 'Browse' and a popup box will appear. Locate the picture on your computer then click on 'Open' in the pop-up box

  • Now go to your auction description

  • Then type this next line

    <img src=>

Now place your mouse cursor after the equals sign and before the closing bracket and right click and click on paste. This will paste the address of your picture so it should now look something like this-

    <img src=http://www.boomspeed.com/yourname/yourpicturesname>

  • If you want your pic in the center of the page type <center> before your code and </center> after it

  • OK, thats it, you're all done...didnt hurt too much did it? :)
